History

We are here for you since 2006

2006

The idea came to life
The virtual airline first started its operations under the name Travel Service Virtual. The project was started by J. Šváb, V. Bukovanský and T. Demel.

2007

New webiste and crew centre
After a year of effort we started our new crew system with flight booking, reporting and validation.

2008

20 flights per week milestone
Our new system attracted many new pilots and we were able to reach the then incredible milestone of 20 reported flights per week. In comparison, nowadays we exceed this number up to several times every day.

2009

New webdesign
In 2009 we once again updated our webdesign, to keep up with the latest standards. For that we thank our skilled webmaster Radek.

2013

New website
Once again we updated our whole website in 2013, in order to offer the best we can to our pilots.

2014

New CEO
In September of 2014, David Kučera was appointed as the new CEO of our virtual airline. Many thanks to our previous leader, Jiří Šváb for building this ever expanding community. Later in that year we switched to our new domain www.tvs-virtual.cz.

2015

Start of a Revolution
On May 11, 2015 we launched a new version of our crew system with the use of our new tracking software smartCARS v2.

2019

Merger with CSA Virtual
The gradual merging of real-world Travel Service/Smartwings and Czech Airlines operation led us to merge with CSA Virtual.

2020

Reflecting real-world changes
The Travel Service brand has disappeared in the real world, with all real operations now managed by Smartwings Group. To keep up, we changed the name and branding of our virtual airline from Travel Service Virtual to SW Group Virtual.

2023

New system
In 2023, we updated our system and website again. We've brought a new, modern, intuitive look to our crew center, introduced Simbrief integration, added briefing information for every single airport in our network, and much more. Our development is constantly moving forward!

2024

New tracking software
During the summer of 2024, we gradually switched to smartCARS 3. This again opened up many new possibilities in flight tracking, cabin crew announcements, and more.
